I've worked with hundreds of people who lose weight with our diet plans. However over the years I started to notice that the people who were more successful at losing weight and maintaining that loss, had several traits in common. If your goal is to be successful at losing weight and keeping it away, take a look at these and try to make these traits your own!

1. They don't weigh themselves every day.

2. Successful ‘losers’ either naturally enjoy the exercise they do, or they make it enjoyable. For instance, many of them enjoy walking in the beautiful outdoors, or if you don't, try to increase your enjoyment by listening to music, exercising with a friend, or perhaps by varying your route or the sort of exercise you do.

3. They are early risers and get their exercise done first thing.

4. They exercise (even simple activities such as walking, jogging, or swimming) as part of their daily routine. They understand that daily activity is absolutely critical to their success. They are committed to exercising almost every day for the rest of their lives. It's not considered a chore for them.

5. They have an incredible desire to remain trim and be healthy. But, they don't just talk about it - They actually put their words into action! They are willing to do everything it takes to get where they want to be.

6. They don't fall for the latest ‘fad’ diet and they are resolved to the fact that their weight loss will take time. They're not obsessively looking for ‘short cuts’.

7. They prepare most of their own meals and usually bring their lunch to work. (If they aren’t already on a Bodychef diet plan!) They avoid pills and shakes as these not only rarely/barely work but they enhance the sense of 'quick fix' culture.

8. They realize that their body functions best and is healthiest when it's getting the naturally healthy stuff... fruits, veggies, and whole grains.

9. They weight train two to three days per week to maintain muscle tone and elevate their ‘basal metabolic’ rate.

10. They know that it may be very tough at times, but they also know that they are slowly but surely reaching the goals they've worked for. Which obviously feels great, so smile!
