One month of tasty meals down and a whole stone lighter!



Elisha is showing fantastic progress in such a short time being on the bodychef diet! Her weight loss goal is seeming more and more realistic thanks to her efforts (and sticking to our meal plans). As you can see from her most recent photo it looks as if slipping into that wedding dress isn't too far away!

Hi my name is Elisha I am 25 years old and I get married in 9 months it is now january 26th 2011 and I am unhappy with my body.

Just before I had won the competition I took to the weight-watchers scales, weighing in at 15st 6lbs.

My weight has yo yo'd since my early teens and has driven me to despair sometimes as i'm sure it has many people. I was aware I was overweight at school but surprisingly I was never taunted at school so my weight was never really an issue. I suppose it became an issue when I started taking an interest in opposite sex with which I never had much luck...

A few years later, I find myself with a wonderful man and became mother of a beautiful little girl. When I first met my partner I was happy with my figure in fact I was the happiest I have ever been with my body I had shrunk down to a size 12 which is the smallest I have ever been.

I must confess however that once i was completely comfortable with my partner and he was with I we had both begun to gain weight. In 2008 I gave birth to a beautiful little girl, I was aware that I had gained a substantial amount of weight during the pregnancy. This as i'm sure happens to a lot of woman, this has greatly affected both my confidence and my sexual relationship with my spouse.

Like many mothers I have been left with what some people call a 'mothers apron.' I look in the mirror at myself and want to cry... and think where have I gone?

Regardless of what I think of myself my partner has never loved me any less and always supports my hair brained schemes even if he does not agree with them. He's not the most romantic of men; I mean he even proposed to me outside a butchers shop window in New York with no ring, but his intentions were good and he more than delivered what he had promised.

We have been engaged for 5 years and at long last finally this year we are getting married. Like every bride to be I want to look my absolute best on my wedding day. I want to be full of confidence as I am only going to do this once, When we first got engaged 5 years ago I started planning in my head as every girl does and I found the one dress I instantly fell in love with but as no date was set I left it.

4 years later we decide to set a date and I thought there was no way I will get the dream dress I fell in love with 4 years ago, But I came across the dress for sale unworn new with tags still on. I was so excited the only problem is it is a size 12 I bought it anyway in the hope that I could loose the weight before the wedding. Still here I am 9 months to go and still a size 18 I just dont have the time to diet and prepare meals I work all different shifts and with taking care of my daughter there just isnt enough time in the day to make healthy meals and manage regular exercise.

I was thrilled when I won the bodychef weight loss makeover prize draw and after speaking with Jayne have agreed to blog my progress on my weight loss journey. I now have a (fat) fighting chance of fitting into my dream dress within 9 months!

I've lost 6lbs in just my first week, bringing me down to 15stone! Perhaps I can reach my weight loss goal in just 8 months...
