What can you eat on a paleo diet plan?

The way the paleo diet is interpreted and followed varies but it generally includes large amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and nuts, and excludes foods such as dairy products, grains, legumes and refined food products, which wouldn’t have been available to our paleolithic ancestors.

There’s evidence that eating like a caveman can be good for you! The paleo diet has been shown to improve body composition when compared to the typical western diet, and even some national nutritional guidelines!

Can you lose weight on the paleo diet?

As the paleo diet promotes the eating of fresh foods with all of the fibre intact, it is more filling than your average diet. This, coupled with an increased amount of protein, makes the paleo diet plan a great choice for anyone wanting to reduce hunger whilst losing weight.

One setback many find on the paleo diet is that weight loss can stall due to high fat intake. Fat is very calorie-dense so it can be easy to overindulge!
