1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4.
Lightly grease and line a 900-g/2Ib loaf tin.
Sift the flours, sugar, salt and the spices into a large bowl.
In a separate bowl mash the bananas with the orange juice, then stir in the eggs and oil. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix well.
Spoon into the perpared tin and bake in the preheated over for 1 hour. Test to see if the loaf is cooked by inserting a skewer into the centre, If it comes out clean, the loaf is done. If not, bake for a further 10 minutes and test again.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool in the tin.
Turn out the loaf, slice and serve.
